Features

What you get with a Pledglings race, and (further down, plainly marked) what we are still building. We would rather you planned your event around the first list.

The race

The part your supporters came for, and the reason a virtual duck race beats a raffle draw.

Dress the duck

Give supporters a wardrobe of hats, glasses, and accessories to customize their racer with a live 3D preview. They can give it a sensible name or a joke one, ensuring the leaderboard features fun, personal names instead of anonymous ticket numbers.

Live 3D race in the browser

Watch the entire field compete on a vibrant course right in the browser. A real-time running order sits alongside the action, letting the crowd track a duck’s dramatic climb to the lead. Best of all? No apps to download and no clumsy video files to cue.

Watch from anywhere

Share a single public link via email, social media, or a QR code on a poster. Whether supporters are sitting in the community hall or tuning in from across the world, everyone experiences the exact same thrilling race at the exact same moment

Fundraising

Turn on the streams that suit your event, set your own prices, and change them up to the off.

Adopt a duck

Your entry price and, if you want one, a cap on the field. The page then shows how many places are left, which is one of the better ways to sell the last few. Entries can close at a time you set, or stay open until the race is run.

Donate with a message

A straight donation with a few words attached, which appears live over the course as it runs. Set a minimum, offer suggested amounts as one-tap buttons, and let supporters give without adopting anything.

Safety while the race is on

This puts text typed by the public onto a screen in a room that often holds children, sponsors and the mayor.

Screened before it shows

Every message, supporter name and duck name is checked automatically before the card is charged, against a standard set for a room with children in it. Anything that fails comes straight back to the person who typed it, so they can reword it and still give, and you are not sat at a laptop clearing a queue.

Clear the screen instantly

One control on the race page stops everything appearing over the race, on every screen watching, at once, and leaves donations coming in while you deal with it. A single message can also be pulled back on its own, from your donations list, after it has gone up.

Running your race

The organiser's side: your event page, your team, and the field.

Your own event page

Your race name, date, description and web address, with the field, the standings and the running total on it. It is the only link you need to share, and it stays up afterwards with the result on it.

Several organisers

Invite the rest of your team to help run a race, so nobody is sharing a login and whoever is free can pull a message or add a racer.

Nothing is locked in

Add entries for supporters who paid you in cash, fix a name or a costume, remove an entry that should not be there, and change your prices, your field size or your closing time, right up to the off.

Money and payouts

Every payment goes directly to your charity. It never sits with us.

Paid directly to you

Set up once from your race settings. The money belongs to your charity from the moment the card clears, and reaches your bank automatically, usually within a few working days. We add nothing to that, and we take no percentage of what you raise.

An optional donor contribution

Supporters can choose to cover the processing cost plus a small amount for Pledglings, so the charge comes off their side rather than out of your donation. It never counts toward your race total, and a supporter can set it to zero in one tap.

Still being built

Named here rather than buried, because a charity plans an event months out and needs to know what it can count on.

Gift Aid Coming soon

Worth 25% more on every eligible UK donation, and the single biggest thing we could add. It needs settling properly first (which gifts qualify, what has to be collected and how long it is kept), so we would rather build it once than ship it half-right.

Trackside banners Coming soon

Selling a sponsor a board at the side of the course, with finite slots and artwork screened before it appears. The pricing, the slots and the screening are in place; artwork upload and putting the board on the track are not yet.

Reports and exports Coming soon

A downloadable record of everything raised, for your own books and for whoever audits them.

Automatic emails Coming soon

Confirmations and receipts for supporters, and a nudge to organisers when something needs approving.
